November was a fantastic month for Tech Thursday’s. There was a pitch competition where $25,000 was given away, we learned about the Automotive Tech Industry in Winnipeg, and heard from North Forge companies.

December 7th: ‘Celebrating the top 3 Tech Stories of 2023’. The Winnipeg Tech Newsletter and Tech Thursdays are thrilled to host a celebration of the top stories of the year. The event starts at 4:30pm, and will take place at the King’s Head Pub. Stick around for StartUp TNT’s happy hour.

Neo Financial took the top spot in Deloitte’s Companies to Watch category awards with a 81,732% in revenue growth over the past three years.
Carbon Lock Tech, a carbon sequestration company, won Green Dragon’s Lair Pitch Competition hosted by MEIA, receiving a grand prize of $10,000. Standard Carbon, a climate accounting software, won the People’s Choice award.

SkipTheDishes Express Lane has partnered with Kraft Peanut Butter (KPB) to create an AI-supported platform that enables you to scan the final scrapings of peanut butter at the bottom of the jar. Consumers can now use their mobile devices to scan the pattern at the bottom of any nearly empty jars to receive a free KPB jar, same day, through Skip Express Lane.
VidDay has launched a Video Book, a physical book with that when opened will play personalized video montages and messages. They’ve also released VidDay Greetings, to enable you to send a free eCard with a personalized video greeting and gift card.
Activate Games, a company that brings technology and physical activity together, is expanding to MENA (Middle East North Africa) thanks to a new partnership with Majid Al Futtaim.
Tactica Interactive has partnered EMILI to create a new microsite that articulates their full scope of our work, who they work with, and what their value proposition is. The site enables potential customers to find them easily.

North Forge has opened a storefront in downtown Winnipeg to showcase and sell the creations from their fabrication lab — or the FabLab.
Tony Siconolfi, will be taking on the role of Chief Revenue Officer at Taiv. Taiv has also reached over 100 venue partners in Tampa Bay, making it their largest market.
North Forge is launching ElevateIP, a national program of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada, designed to support Canadian startups. North Forge will focus on MB and SK companies, helping them understand, manage and leverage their intellectual property. Up to $100,000 of support is available to help develop and implement your IP strategy. Apply for the program here.
