Payworks, a Winnipeg-based payroll company, was partially acquired by Hg, UK Private Equity firm, for $32M CAD.
- With revenue over $100M USD, this marks the first instance of outside funding for Payworks, whose Canadian operations will remain unchanged, with 600+ employees continuing to support the company’s strategy.

Hyper, a Manitoba emergency response startup, announced in late July a $6.3M USD seed round, led by Eniac Ventures, as well as an official emergence from stealth.
- Hyper helps emergency responders by answering questions, texting links, forwarding calls, and even taking non-emergency police reports.

Winnipeg-based Conquest Planning and BMO
- BMO is utilizing Conquest’s proprietary planning technology to help users set financial goals, monitor their progress and build a comprehensive snapshot of their financial health.

The Manitoba startup community has stood out nationwide, having the fifth most dollars invested across all provinces, and nearly doubling the national average in terms of deal size according to the Canadian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (CVCA) H1 2025 Market Report.
