Insurance company Wawanesa acquired the Canadian retail insurance business of Everest Group, increasing their commercial book by 30% (approx. $305 million in value).
Winnipeg-based Move Right, a moving software built by operators, for operators, was acquired by Mobio Technologies Inc.

The CVCA officially announced its 2025 numbers, with extremely promising figures coming out of Manitoba:
$127 million Venture Capital dollars were invested into Manitoba, up from $4 million in 2024.
7 companies that received investments are headquartered in Manitoba.
The Manitoba Government increased Venture Capital tax credits to $30 million
In addition to the tax credit increase, Manitoba will also be aligning with modern investment practices by recognizing simple agreements for future equity (SAFEs) as eligible investment instruments.
The Government also reduced the minimum eligible investment to $5,000 from $10,000, and expanded eligibility to include limited partnerships (LPs), the standard structure for venture capital funds.
Through a randomized controlled trial led by Stanford University, Winnipeg’s Hoot Reading evidenced that their high-impact, virtual tutoring can substantially improve literacy outcomes for struggling readers at scale.
Ran (former Skip) and Toni Shulman launched Koala Insulation of Winnipeg, building a high-performance insulation company serving residential and commercial properties across Winnipeg and surrounding areas.
