February was another great month for Tech Thursdays! We had an average of 80 folks come out to each event. Thank you to our speakers Mark Lepp of GrainFox, Adam Weiss of OPI, Wade Barnes, formerly of Farmers Edge, Chris Bunio of TheoryMesh, Ron Cantiveros from Walmart Global, Marc Perreault from Modzilla, Neil Stewart of Neo Financial, and Adam Heuring from Online Business Solutions.

💸 Funding
Conquest Planning, a technology platform modernizing financial planning, has raised $24 Million in Series A funding led by Fidelity International Strategic Ventures.
RocketRez, a ticketing and operations software platform, has raised $20 Million in Series B funding from Level Equity.
TheoryMesh, in partnership with CubicFarms, has received nearly $1.3M in funding from Canadian Food Innovation Network to create sustainable beef and dairy supply chains.
🛫 Product Launches & Partnerships
Taiv, an ad detection and replacement device manufacturer, has launched in Pheonix, Arizona, becoming the 5th market they’ve launched.
Vidday, a group video making platform, has partnered with Landmark Cinemas to create Shout Out!. Shout Out allows moviegoers to create a personalized video messages that play right before the start of movies.
Parallel, a platform that leverages machine learning to help consumers find the right clothing fit, has launched a redesigned iOS app and website.
New Media Manitoba has begun their training courses through their StudioLab xR office on Albert St. Both the February and March courses, that teach Unreal Engine, have sold out.
Flightyfelon Games, a video game studio, has launched a Kickstarted for their upcoming game FREERIDE. Act 1 of the game is now available as a demo on Steam.

Neo Financial’s Mastercard, and Neo’s Hudson’s Bay Mastercard, both made the list of ‘Best Store Credit Cards in Canada for February 2023’ by Forbes.
Gryd, a PropTech company that has developed products for property owners, managers, and REITs nationwide, has become the first Winnipeg company to be hand-selected into Google’s Startups Accelerator Canada Class of 2023.
Complex Games' new video game Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters was announced as a nominee by The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS) for its 26th Annual D.I.C.E. Awards - the video game industry's premier, peer-juried awards show.
Ubisoft, a video game publisher with offices in Winnipeg, has been named one of Canada’s best employers by Forbes.

March 9th: The Exceptional Story of Complex Games featuring Noah Decter, Head of Studio and Games at Complex Games and moderated by James Swirsky, Director/Producer of ‘Indie Game: The Movie’. The event takes place at 7pm at RRC’s Exchange Campus.
March 29th: Cyber Security Competition: To the Moon hosted by CyberWave and TechWPG. The event takes place at 4:30pm at Launch Coworking.
