January Tech Thursday Announced

And... Winnipeg goes Hollywood, AirMiles for Mortgages, and Bit Space named top VR Developers

🍾 Tech Thursday Line-Up

Thanks to everyone who made the December Tech Thursday events, we had such a blast! We had our first annual Tech Thursday holiday party that had a presentation from Alec Massé from Typha Co. and a performance from the Stephanie Westdale Band. December also had a presentation from Jonathan Phú Son Lê from New Media Manitoba and Adam Rehill from Hoot Reading. This January, we’re thrilled to bring on two corporate sponsors who will help Tech Thursdays grow: SkipTheDishes and Neo Financial.

January’s lineup up is a good one:

• January 5th: Darrell Brown, CEO of Kisik Energy, will be presenting on Renewable Energy Integration for diesel dependent First Nation Communities

• January 12th: David Peters, CEO of ConstructionClock (winners of this years Startup TNT's investment summit), will be presenting on PIVOT. OR DIE. Surviving your FIRST failed product. This is a ProductTank event.

• January 18th: Aswinee Rath, Senior Solution Engineer at Snowflake, will be presenting on Building Data Applications on Snowflake.

• Bit Space Development, a Virtual Reality training solutions company, was again recognized as one of the top AR/VR developers in the Clutch Top B2B Companies Global 2022 list.

• TheoryMesh, a food supply chain solution, has been named to the Foresight 50 list of Canada’s most investable Cleantech ventures.

🛫 Launches

• Winnipeg launched its first direct flight to L.A., a huge win for tech and creative companies looking to partners with or sell to those in this market.

• Neo Financial has partnered with Air Miles, the partnership will allow customers to earn 1,000 Miles when you get a Neo Mortgage.

• Hoot Reading, a one-to-one online tutoring platform, and TalentLift Canada, a non-profit talent agency, recently announced they will provide literacy tutoring to 200 children from newcomer families that have recently arrived from refugee circumstances.  

• 3Common, an app to schedule your social life with friends, has acquired 2 partner organizations who will be using their product do their event outreach & RSVP collection.
